The United States made a proposal to Iran for the ending of the war, so that afterwards talks can begin for Iran’s nuclear programme and for the ending of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz for the restoration of navigation.

Donald Trump has given Iran an ultimatum of 48 hours to respond positively to his proposal, otherwise he threatens with new bombings.

The White House after the latest talks believes that it is approaching an agreement with Iran on the one-page proposal, while this optimism also appears in the statements of the American president.

Israel bombed Beirut for the first time after the temporary ceasefire, while Hezbollah attacked the Israel Defense Forces inside Lebanon.

“They want to make a deal. We had very good talks over the last 24 hours and it is very possible that we will achieve an agreement,” Donald Trump stated to journalists in the Oval Office on Wednesday, adding later that “it will end quickly.”

However, Iran states that it is examining the proposal and that it will respond today, however it comments that it is more “a list of American wishes”.

Among other provisions, the agreement would include Iran’s commitment to a uranium enrichment moratorium, the agreement of the US to lift its sanctions and release billions of dollars from frozen Iranian funds, as well as the lifting of restrictions from both sides around passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
