Three arson attacks using gas canisters took place in the early hours of the morning in Thessaloniki, targeting the homes of New Democracy officials in Pylaia, Toumba, and Charilaou. The attacks targeted apartment buildings where Zisis Ioakeimovits, president of the New Democracy Thessaloniki Steering Committee, former MP Savvas Anastasiadis, and political candidate Afroditi Nestora either live or are connected to.

According to the Hellenic Police, the three attacks took place within 17 minutes, a fact that leads authorities to believe that the perpetrators were the same individuals and moved by motorcycle, placing the incendiary devices one after another between 04:18 and 04:35. Authorities are also examining the common characteristics of the devices, as a gas canister and a bottle containing flammable liquid were reportedly used.

The case has been taken over by the Counter-Terrorism Service, while no claim of responsibility has been made so far.

The most serious attack occurred at the apartment building where Afroditi Nestora lives. The device was placed near a car, causing two private vehicles to catch fire and injuring five people. Among them are Nestora herself, her parents, and two residents, while her mother is hospitalized in serious condition in the ICU. The case has been taken over by the Counter-Terrorism Service, while no claim of responsibility has been made so far.
