The Panhellenic Exams for General Lyceum candidates were completed yesterday, while for Vocational Lyceum students the exams will continue until mid-June.

Meanwhile, from June 16 to 25, the special-subject exams will be held for candidates seeking admission to university departments that require them.

Attention now turns to the announcement of grades, with the grading process already underway, while the results are expected toward the end of June, most likely on June 25 or 26.

“This year’s Panhellenic Exams had no unexpected developments; they were ‘quiet’,” an experienced high school teacher told Kathimerini. In the General Education subject of Modern Greek Language and Literature, in which all candidates are examined regardless of the scientific field of the schools they are aiming for, the exam topics are considered to have had the same level of difficulty as those of the 2025 Panhellenic Exams.

The general picture is estimated to be worse than last year in the 1st field, while the Chemistry topics in the 2nd field were deemed to be of “high difficulty”.

In the 1st scientific field, which covers humanities, law and social sciences, the Ancient Greek topics were more demanding than last year, and therefore the overall picture of candidates’ performance is expected to be worse.

In the 2nd field, which covers science and technology studies, the Chemistry topics are considered to be of “high difficulty”. This may halt the upward trend that could have been created by the easier Physics topics and by the Mathematics topics, which were “of similar difficulty to last year’s”.

In the 3rd scientific field, which covers health sciences, the Biology topics were judged to be more demanding compared with 2025. In the 4th scientific field, which covers economics and computer science, the two subjects with increased weighting are Computer Science and Principles of Economic Theory. For the former, OEFE estimated that “the topics were of graded difficulty, corresponding to the difficulty of last year’s topics”, while for Principles of Economic Theory it noted that “the topics presented an escalating level of difficulty, with a clear focus on highlighting the excellently prepared candidates”.
