Nikos Androulakis secured first place in the PASOK leadership election with 29.64% of the vote, receiving 89,288 votes. He will compete in the second round against Haris Doukas, who came in second with 21.41% and 64,490 votes.
Pavlos Geroulanos finished third with 21.12% and 63,632 votes, followed by Anna Diamantopoulou in fourth place with 19.52% and 58,809 votes. Michalis Katrinis placed fifth with 6.03% and 18,163 votes, while Nadia Giannakopoulou came sixth with 2.29% and 6,890 votes.
The contest for second place between Geroulanos and Doukas was extremely close, with the outcome uncertain until the last moment. In the end, Haris Doukas edged out Pavlos Geroulanos by 858 votes.
A total of 303,223 people voted, nearly 30,000 more than in the party’s internal elections in 2021.
Haris Doukas finished third in the central Athens electoral district, with Pavlos Geroulanos taking first place, Anna Diamantopoulou second, and Nikos Androulakis fourth. Androulakis led the other candidates in Thessaloniki and Crete, while Doukas secured victory in the Epirus region.
The second round is set for Sunday, October 13. So far, none of the other candidates have announced whether they will back Androulakis or Doukas.
Following the results, N. Androulakis said, “PASOK will emerge more united, stronger, and prouder,” while H. Doukas said, “The message from the ballot box is clear: 70% are calling for a change in leadership.”
