This year’s student elections once again concluded with two different claims of victory and two separate vote counts, as polling stations closed yesterday at 7:00 p.m. At the same time, according to estimates, voter abstention was even higher than last year, reflecting the continued disengagement of a significant portion of students from the process.
The Panspoudastiki Kinisi Synergasias (PKS) maintains that it remains the leading force, while DAP-NDFK disputes this and declares itself the winner instead. Student elections in Greece are organized by student unions and political factions, without a unified count conducted by the state or universities.

Specifically, PKS announced that it emerged as the leading faction with 33.5%, compared to 24.03% for DAP-NDFK. It also claimed gains in support and argued that only results signed by electoral committees should be considered reliable. According to these results, PASP came third with 10.97%, while the EAAK groups placed fourth with 9.57%.
By contrast, DAP-NDFK, with 97% of votes counted, reported a clear victory of its own with 42.23%, placing PKS second at 20.72%, and spoke of its 39th consecutive win. According to DAP’s figures, PASP came third with 15.59%, while EAAK placed fourth with 5.21%.
