The platform for home renovations for vulnerable households is now open.
Yesterday, the home renovation program platform in Athens opened, offering homes for rent to vulnerable households.
Property owners with homes within the Municipality of Athens can apply until January 31.
The program subsidizes the renovation of 70 homes, with eligible owners receiving up to €10,055 for renovating their apartment, which must be rented out for at least 4 years.
Eligible participants include property owners or usufructuaries (those with the right to use and benefit from a property owned by someone else) with residential properties, provided that:
• They hold ownership or usufruct of at least fifty percent (50%) of the property. The property has an area between thirty-five (35) and one hundred twenty (120) square meters and is located in a residential area.
• The property is legally established and not subject to demolition.
• It has not been declared a primary residence or rented and is listed as vacant on the E2 form accompanying the most recent income tax return.
Beneficiaries of the program, who will be housed in the renovated apartments, must:
• They must be eligible either for this specific program or for the housing allowance from OPEKA.
• They must not own a primary residence.
• They must live in or be registered residents of the Municipality of Athens.
