The three individuals arrested in connection with the death of 19-year-old Myrto in Argostoli were brought before the investigating magistrate today to give testimony. The exact cause of her death has not yet been determined, pending the results of toxicology tests.

All three are charged with homicide by omission with intent (a felony), as well as aggravated possession and use of narcotic substances. By tonight, the prosecutor and investigating magistrate are expected to decide whether they will be placed in pre-trial detention or released under restrictive conditions.

According to information available so far, the police investigation was based on video footage, witness statements, and other critical findings. Authorities have also seized mobile phones, clothing, and personal belongings that are being examined as part of the preliminary investigation.

The investigation reportedly established the movements of the suspects before and during the transfer of the 19-year-old to the square, as well as the subsequent actions of one of the three individuals, who is alleged to have thoroughly cleaned a location where, according to authorities, the suspects and the deceased had been together using narcotic substances.

The management of the hospital in Argostoli described as “slanderous” allegations that doctors responded slowly after the 19-year-old arrived.

The first to testify was the 26-year-old former weightlifter. His testimony lasted about four hours, while proceedings continue for the remaining defendants.

The 26-year-old admitted in his testimony that he had obtained the substances and claimed that he used them together with the victim twice. “I bought the drugs and went to the rented room so we could use them…”

He then claimed that the young woman “went into convulsions” and that he tried to help her. “I put my hand in her mouth so her tongue would not roll back. I have bite marks on my fingers. I have requested a forensic examination.”

He also stated that he called emergency services before they carried the girl down to the square. “The other one went ahead and opened the doors, and I carried Myrto in my arms. I placed her on the wall and covered her with her coat. I stayed there until the ambulance arrived,” he said.
