Donald Trump and Iranian Prime Minister Masoud Pezeshkian signed the 14-point agreement to end the US-Israeli war in Iran and Lebanon.

“The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, together with their allies in the present war, sign this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to declare the immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, and hereby undertake not to initiate any war or military operation against one another, to refrain from the threat or use of force, and to ensure Lebanon’s territorial integrity and sovereignty,” reads the first point of the agreement.

Trump is facing criticism for making too many concessions over the Strait of Hormuz, while B. Netanyahu has not yet commented on the part of the agreement concerning Lebanon.

The United States and Iran agreed that the deal will remain in force for 60 days, with the option of an extension, while the two sides negotiate a final agreement on Iran’s nuclear program during that period.

The agreement also provides, among other things, that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open. However, after the 60-day period, ships will be required to pay transit fees to Iran.

Despite making major political and economic concessions, according to The Guardian, Donald Trump described the agreement as a “major victory” for the United States. At the same time, the deal is likely to provoke anger in Israel and among hardliners within Netanyahu’s party, while Hezbollah welcomed it as a “major victory.”
