“Karditsa is the city of the bicycle. It has already earned many distinctions and, during our administration, managed to win first prize in the European Mobility Week,” Karditsa Mayor Vasilis Tsiakos told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency.

He added that “as a municipal authority, we are making a systematic effort to strengthen this culture even further so that we can make our municipality more sustainable. In a municipality such as Karditsa, given the conditions that exist, car use can be minimized and alternative forms of transportation, such as cycling, can become dominant.”
