Iran, despite the US bombings targeting sites such as the country’s missile systems, says it will not withdraw from the peace talks with the US.
Through its Foreign Ministry, however, it condemned the attacks as “a sign of bad faith,” given that a ceasefire is currently in effect, adding that “they will not go unanswered.”
Still, the Iranian military did not announce specific retaliation measures, something which, according to The Guardian, suggests that Tehran does not want to launch an attack as the talks are heading into their final stage.
The IDF is intensifying its attacks in southern Lebanon, as B. Netanyahu ordered an escalation in order to “crush” Hezbollah.
As Trump continued to face questions over how a planned peace agreement would achieve the goals he had set at the beginning of the war, he said in a lengthy post that the media would portray anything that happened as an Iranian victory, even if Tehran “surrenders, admits that its navy has disappeared and is resting at the bottom of the sea, that its air force no longer exists, and if the entire army walks out of Tehran, laying down its weapons and with its hands raised, each one shouting ‘I surrender, I surrender.’”
Meanwhile, the speaker of the Iranian parliament and chief negotiator is in Doha trying to agree on the terms under which more than $12 billion in frozen Iranian assets could be released, while also seeking the lifting of sanctions on Iranian exports.
