The government is examining new support measures from the surplus

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced 8 new support measures of €500 million, from the surplus.

Specifically, the subsidy of diesel is extended with €0.20 per litre until May and the income limits are increased so that one annual rent is returned to +70,000 households.

Also continuing, until August, is the subsidy of fertilizers with 15% of the value of their purchase invoices.

The surplus is when the revenues of the state, minus the expenses, exceed significantly the original target that has been set by the budget.

Also, the annual support of low pensioners, uninsured elderly persons and persons with disabilities is increased to €300 and the beneficiaries now increase to 1.9 million and extraordinary support is provided to families with children, amounting to €150 for each child.

At the same time, he also announced three measures that concern private debt which are addressed to millions of debtors.

First, the seizure of the bank account of a debtor will now be able to be lifted if 25% of his debt has been paid and the remaining obligations toward the tax administration have been regulated, second the possibility is given for debts from €5,000 up to €10,000 also to be included in the out-of-court mechanism and third, debts that became overdue up to December 2023 will now be able to be included in a regime of 72 instalments, with the only condition the repayment or settlement of any new overdue debts after 2023.
